Influenced by Tobia’s father, architect Carlo Scarpa, their designs are featured in collections like MoMA and the Louvre. They collaborated with brands such as B&B Italia, Knoll International, and San Lorenzo Silver, winning awards like the 1970 Compasso d’Oro for the Soriana armchair.

Afra Bianchin (b. 1937) and Tobia Scarpa (b. 1935) both studied architecture at the Università Iuav di Venezia and opened their studio in 1960. Notable works include the Gavina Bastiano sofa, B&B Italia’s Coronado sofa, and the Soriana armchair. Later designs include the Papillon lamp for FLOS.
