Roger Capron 'Garrigue' Coffee Table

This handsome Roger Capron coffee table captures the landscape of the South of France where his studio was located. Inspired by the wild Mediterranean vegetation each tile was hand-pressed with real leaves and native plants. When fired, the organic material disappeared, leaving behind a fossil-like impression in the clay. It is finished with richly nuanced glazes developed with his wife and collaborator, Jacotte. 
Capron’s work was internationally celebrated and sold in stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Gimbels.
