     Jacques Jarrige (French designer)

Jacques Jarrige (born 1962) is a French multidisciplinary designer and sculptor known for his work with various materials, including wood, bronze, aluminum, and wool. His creations, which range from furniture to lamps, focus on organic shapes and hand-crafted designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Raised in Paris, Jarrige developed an early interest in African sculptures, leading him to study architecture at the National School of Fine Arts, though he later left to pursue his creative career.

Influenced by designers like Alexandre Noll and George Nakashima, he gained recognition in the 1990s for his sculptural furniture. Jarrige's work was showcased in the Valerie Goodman Gallery in New York starting in 2010, and he later expanded into large-scale abstract sculptures. His work has been featured in publications like Architectural Digest and Elle Décor, and he exhibited at the 2022 Venice Biennale, completing notable commissions for buildings like the Pfizer Building in Brooklyn and the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York.
