Timeless Design,
Ethical Living
At CAL Design, we believe a home should speak softly and with purpose. Rooted in Kent, Connecticut, our interiors bring together considered design and conscious living, pairing 20th-century and antique furniture with a focus on craftsmanship, character, and restraint.
Each piece is chosen not to fill a space, but to give it meaning; enduring, beautiful, and entirely your own.
This is design that respects time, place, and the way you live.

Craig Anthony Longhurst is an interior designer with over 30 years of experience across residential and commercial projects. He studied Architecture and Interior Design at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia, launching his career, while still a student, he designed and then operated the well-known Soda Sisters diner, which opened in 1980 in Melbourne and quickly became a local favorite.
Following early work with prominent design firms, Craig expanded into the commercial furniture industry during the 1990s, holding senior roles in sales and marketing with global leaders such as Herman Miller, Unifor, and Haworth. Based in Sydney and later Hong Kong, he worked extensively throughout the Asia Pacific, deepening his knowledge of workplace innovation and refining his ability to design interiors that are both thoughtful and enduring.
Today, through CAL Design, Craig focuses on creating spaces that are timeless, highly functional, and tailored to the specific needs of his clients. With a strong foundation in design history, he is fluent in a wide range of styles and remains deeply committed to sustainability—curating and restoring antique and vintage furniture alongside contemporary elements like lighting, wallpaper, and textiles. Collaborations with trusted local artisans often bring his vision to life.
Craig’s work has been featured in Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, Allure, Belle (Australia), and Instyle (Australia). Vanity Fair described his design for Salon Ruggeri on Fifth Avenue as “a wonderful safe haven, a calming and inviting day getaway.”
